Building a robust security infrastructure, particularly for service-oriented businesses in 2023 and beyond, involves a thoughtful amalgamation of diverse components, each serving a pivotal role in surveillance and protection. Understanding the range of systems and components available we consider is the key to constructing an effective security and surveillance setup.
Topology
There are three types of connective topologies we will consider. These are:
- Analog CCTV Systems which operate via combo RG59/siamese cables. They are cost-effective but have limitations in zoom resolution.
- HD-CVI Systems use coaxial combo cable with BNC connections and represent the industry standard for contemporary HD surveillance.
- Network IP Systems employing standard CAT5/6 Ethernet cable, IP systems offer high-resolution video capabilities (4K and above). These support Power over Ethernet (PoE) and is thus the connective topology of choice
Cameras
Cameras are not the only component of our Security/Surveillance system. There are different types of cameras and each style offers distinct advantages and capabilities. Most cameras, equipped with infrared night vision, serve both indoor and outdoor purposes. Compatibility among different camera types within a surveillance network ensures seamless integration and flexibility.
Public View Monitors (PVM)
PVMs are a proven deterrent against criminal activity. PVMs exhibit camera outputs to the public and they come in various sizes and configurations:
- Monitors displaying feeds from DVR/NVR/VMS via ceiling or wall mounts.
- Monitors featuring integrated cameras, focusing on immediate views and often including outputs for DVR/NVR recording.
Sensors
The last component of our security/surveillance solution is sensors. Sensors offer Peer-to-Peer communication and can support advanced remote control features, Ethernet I/O devices excel in relay control applications and more. They can trigger relays based on inputs or remotely activate security measures, showcasing unmatched flexibility and efficiency.
In summary, constructing a robust security apparatus requires meticulous selection and integration of several components. Whether it’s choosing between different systems, leveraging diverse camera styles, configuring PVMs, or utilizing advanced sensor capabilities, tailoring your security and surveillance solution is a must for today’s business. We believe your goal should be a comprehensive and effective security solution. Understanding these components can empower your business to design a resilient security infrastructure, meeting your specific needs with sophistication and precision.
